SodaSlim Side Effects: 138 mg of Caffeine, 3 Label Exclusions, 2 Liver Notes
SodaSlim side effects come mainly from caffeine: each capsule carries at least 138 mg of caffeine anhydrous, about a third of the FDA's 400 mg a day figure for healthy adults. The caution panel rules out under-18s and pregnant or nursing mothers, and asks you to consult a physician first if you take a medication or have a medical condition. NIH and NCCIH also record liver reports linked to garcinia and green tea extract.
SodaSlim's caution panel says do not exceed the dose, not for under-18s or pregnant or nursing mothers, and consult a physician first if you take a medication or have a condition. Beyond the label: at least 138 mg of caffeine per capsule against the FDA's 400 mg a day, and liver reports linked to garcinia and green tea extract.

What does the SodaSlim caution panel say?
Word for word: Do not exceed recommended dose. Not for use by individuals under the age of 18 or pregnant or nursing mothers. Consult with a physician prior to use especially if you are taking a medication or have a medical condition.
Two of those are exclusions, not suggestions. Under-18s are out. Pregnant and nursing mothers are out. The third is an instruction to ask a doctor, and on a capsule with this much caffeine we would take it literally.
Nothing on this page is medical advice. SodaSlim is a dietary supplement, not a drug. It is not FDA approved, and no supplement is, because the FDA does not approve supplements before they reach the market. No supplement may lawfully claim to treat a disease, and this label does not try to.
How much caffeine is in each SodaSlim capsule, and what does that mean?
At least 138 mg, printed. Up to 3.9 mg more from the green tea extract, which is bounded at under 3% caffeine. An unstated amount from the green coffee bean extract, which has no caffeine figure on the label.
The FDA cites 400 mg a day as the amount not generally associated with dangerous negative effects in healthy adults, and puts a 12-ounce cup of brewed coffee at 113 to 247 mg. So one capsule is roughly a cup, and about a third of the daily figure, before you count what you already drink.
There is no way to take a smaller dose. It is one capsule, the panel says do not exceed it, and there is no half. That is the difference between a caffeine capsule and a coffee you can make weaker.
| Source | Amount | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Caffeine anhydrous | 138 mg | Printed |
| Green tea extract, under 3% caffeine | Up to 3.9 mg | Bounded |
| Green coffee bean extract | Not stated | Open |
| Floor for the capsule | 141.9 mg | Before your own coffee or tea |
| FDA figure for healthy adults | 400 mg a day | A ceiling, not a target |
The FDA is also blunt about the far end: pure and highly concentrated caffeine products can have serious health consequences, including death, with toxic effects estimated from around 1,200 mg taken rapidly. That is roughly nine of these capsules at once. Nobody does that by accident. It is why the do-not-exceed line exists.
Who should not take SodaSlim?
- Anyone under 18. The label excludes them.
- Anyone pregnant or nursing. The label excludes them.
- Anyone with high blood pressure, a heart rhythm problem or an anxiety disorder, unless a doctor has said yes. These are the conditions where caffeine matters most.
- Anyone sensitive to caffeine or already drinking a lot of it. One capsule leaves room for about two more cups and no more.
- Anyone on medication for the liver or for mood. NCCIH notes garcinia may interact with medications affecting the liver and serotonin.
- Anyone taking any prescription medicine or with any medical condition, until a physician has seen the panel. The label says so.
What are the two liver notes?
The garcinia. The NIH's weight-loss fact sheet records 10 cases of liver toxicity, resulting in one death and two liver transplants, in people taking products containing this ingredient. It notes causation could not be definitively established. NCCIH says several cases of liver damage have been reported, some severe, though this appears to be uncommon. Those reports are about products, not doses, so nobody can say how the signal applies at 65 mg of HCA.
The green tea. NCCIH: although uncommon, liver injury has been reported in some people who used green tea products, primarily extracts in tablet or capsule form. The NIH sheet records that green tea products probably caused 7 cases of liver damage and possibly caused 27. At 58.5 mg of EGCG per capsule, SodaSlim is far below the intakes those reports involve. On this ingredient the small amount is a margin, not a shortfall.
What are the key safety facts?
- Caution panel: printed, complete and correctly worded.
- Caffeine: at least 138 mg per capsule; the label will not give you the total.
- No way to halve the dose; serving is one capsule.
- Garcinia: liver reports and possible interactions with liver and serotonin medications, per NIH and NCCIH.
- Green tea extract: a real liver signal that this product sits well below.
- Raspberry ketone: insufficient research to draw conclusions, per NIH.
- Interaction statement on the label: none. The consult-a-physician line does that work.
- Timing advice on the label: none. We would not take it late in the day.
What should you do before and after the first capsule?
Before: add 138 mg to your usual daily caffeine and see where the total lands against 400 mg. Take the panel to a pharmacist if you take any medicine. Do not start it if the panel excludes you.
After: if your heart races, you cannot sleep, or you feel unwell in any way, stop and speak to a clinician. The 60-day guarantee returns your money; it does nothing about a reaction. The order desk is +1 (302) 200-3480, and it is for orders, not for medical questions.

Can men take SodaSlim, and can women?
The label does not divide by sex. It divides by age and by pregnancy or nursing. Adult men and adult women who are not pregnant or nursing are inside the label's audience; the caffeine and medication questions apply to both equally.
Not published: any statement about taking it with food, any statement about the time of day, and any interaction list. The brief suggests mornings, which on a stimulant is the sensible reading anyway.
Frequently asked questions
Short answers, each one tied to the label, the seller brief or a named public source.
What are the most likely SodaSlim side effects?
The label does not list any. The ingredient with a clear effect is caffeine at 138 mg or more per capsule, and caffeine's usual effects are alertness, a faster pulse, and trouble sleeping if taken late. Everything else is small and the research on it is mixed.
Is SodaSlim safe?
It carries a correct caution panel and prints every amount. Whether it is safe for you depends on your caffeine intake, your blood pressure, your medicines and your health. The label says to consult a physician if you take a medication or have a condition, and we would.
Can I take SodaSlim with coffee?
The label does not say. The arithmetic does: one capsule plus two 12-ounce cups of coffee lands somewhere between about 370 mg and 640 mg, against the FDA's 400 mg figure, depending on the coffee. One of those is inside the figure and one is well outside it.
Can men take SodaSlim?
Yes, within the label: adults 18 and over, not pregnant or nursing, and with a doctor's say-so if they take medication or have a condition. Nothing on the label is sex-specific.
Does SodaSlim affect the liver?
Two of its ingredients carry published liver reports: garcinia, where the NIH records 10 cases in products containing it, and green tea extract, where NCCIH reports uncommon injury. SodaSlim's EGCG amount is well below the intakes involved; the garcinia reports do not come with doses.
Is SodaSlim FDA approved?
No, and no dietary supplement is. The FDA does not approve supplements before they are marketed. The FDA-registered badge means a facility filed a registration, not that the product was approved.
Our view
A proper caution panel and a plain Contains Caffeine line put this label ahead of most of its category. The gap is the caffeine total, which the label cannot give you because the green coffee line is silent.
Our view is that the risk here is the ordinary risk of a strong cup of coffee you cannot dilute, plus two ingredient-level liver signals a pharmacist should hear about. If you are excluded by the panel, do not buy it. If you are not, start with one bottle and count the caffeine.
